Fiesta Cobalt 409 Oval Serving Bowl
Product Review
First manufactured in 1936 during Art Deco's later, less ornate phase, Fiestaware went out of production in the 1970s, returned in the 1980s, and now enjoys unprecedented popularity. Older pieces fetch hundreds or even thousands of dollars at auctions. The new line offers the original designs in contemporary colors at affordable prices. With signature concentric rings around the rim, this cobalt blue, 12-by-9-inch oval serving bowl mixes and matches with other Fiestaware dinnerware. It can be used to serve candy and nuts as well as vegetables and mashed potatoes. Made of vitrified china with a gleaming, lead-free glaze, the bowl is dishwasher- and microwave-safe. --Fred Brack Product Description Fiesta Cobalt 409 Oval Serving Bowl Reader Reviews What a great piece of Fiestaware! The 12" X 9" Fiestaware Oval Serving Bowl looks shallow, but I you'll be amazed at its capacity. I served 1.5 lbs of steamed clams in about 2 cups of broth in this dish and it was perfect. It adds a different shape to the dinner table, with its fairly narrow oval shape - a fantastic departure from round bowls and square casseroles. This dish is a fantastic choice if you enjoy serving family-style dinners. Of course, the quality is unsurpassed with the Fiestaware name. This is serveware that is big family and kid friendly, yet elegant. Whether you're serving family-style spaghetti, or clams in saffron-tomato broth for a romantic New Year's dinner for two, this piece is versatile to accomodate both. |
